Mr. Nangle Goes to SF

Our friend John Nangle came to visit us last weekend. He's been in Panama for the last like 10 years or something absurd and had never played Guitar Hero. See what you miss when you do the Peace Corps? Let the Panamanians build their own bridges. (Just kidding.)

Because I think it's cool

I'm lucky that the boy likes superhero stuff. He basically just wears these around now. We have to wash them every day.

Grandparents Visit Part 5

The boy likes the sand. Though he doesn't like it on his hands. Gets very bothered about it. Almost Lady MacBeth like.

Pajamas

The J-man got some new pajamas. Two new sets to be exact. That's right, he's wearing Superman pajamas. And yes, those are Thomas the Train pj pants OVER his Superman pants. Maybe he's missing a chromosome.

Grandparents Visit Part 4: Caught in the act

I always knew that one day we'd catch Jack on a waterbed with some blonde. It was inevitable. I just thought I had at least 16 years to prepare for it.

Jack went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito today. It's a great destination because the kids have to be under 3 to even go into the toddler area, so there are less older kids shoving the little 'uns out of the way.

Jack particularly likes the water area. Plastic fish and splashing = good times.

Grandparents Visit Part 3: I didn't get to go

Grandma and Grandpa took Jack to the aquarium today. In case you didn't get it from the title, I didn't get to go. I had to work, like a freaking sucker.

All bitterness aside, he apparently had a good time. Touched some starfish, some stingrays, and some sea urchins. Body checked some fat 15 year-old girl who cut in front of him at the shark tank too. That's my boy. Don't let those mid-westerner's push you around. I mean, honestly, who pushes a 2 year-old out of the way? There were conflicting reports, but I heard he remarked to her "don't start none, won't get none."

Grandparents Visit Part 2: We're those people

That's right. We got a four person surrey. We're officially those tourists. Periodically as we peddled along (as the joggers and 7-year-old bikers passed us) I'd yell out our address to assert our local street cred. Most San Franciscan's ignored me because, well, it's San Francisco. But I really freaked out those out-of-towners. Good times. Good times.

P.S. Don't ever committ to a form of transportation that relies on human power if you have old people and pregnant women with you (no offense Grandpa!).

Grandparents Visit Part 1

Jack is enjoying his grandparents visit. We all went to the Japenese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. Luckily for the rest of us, Grandpa Ed and Jack walk at the same speed.

Jack's trip to EA

Jack and Mom visited EA. Though Jack was generally unimpressed with the corporate hoo-ha, he found the NASCAR arcade machine to be acceptable. That's right, arcade machines just freaking everywhere. (They say 25 cents, but they're not, they're free.)Sometimes I forget just how cool making video games for a living is, well, while it lasts.

Jack is a Guitar Hero

Here he is rocking out. He's a huge music buff. Unfortunately, we did not have the video camera out, otherwise you could have seen him headbanging. No seriously.

He thinks that all video games with music involve either a) using the guitar or b) singing into the microphone. He chooses to be safe and does both.

(Edit): I have no idea why the text on this post is invisible. Then again, if you can't see the text, then you can't see this disclaimer. Which makes this edit pointless.

Thomas the Train

We went to see Thomas the Train last Saturday. Jack loved it. He got to see Thomas, got a tatoo of Thomas, played with Thomas toys, even got to ride on a working Thomas. Suffice to say, he had a great day. But we're pretty Thomased out.

Justice League

Jack is obsessed with the Justice League. Not that I'm complaining. So we got him his first action figures. Superman's still his favorite, but Batman is getting close.
